Oct. 22, 2006- My Own Toilet
Oil on Primed Paper
Approximately: 10"X8"

I've had several very unsuccessful painting days in a row. Somehow I'm not feeling bad about it, I feel I have made some sort of progress. After Glenn repeatedly suggested I paint on paper, I tried it. It is nice.
It drys really fast, it smears around really nice- hey! it acts just like guache. Or even acrylic.
So why oil on paper? If I could paint like this I would try and save my health and just paint with something water soluble. Why in the world would I want oil paint to act like this???

  1. I can relate! I have walked around for hours some days trying to find my motivation paint; somehow, I always do. I'm often surprised how a good work will show up at the end of it all. Your pieces catch my attention a lot. Keep up the good work! Cheers

  2. Thanks Jon-
I always appreciate your comments, and I enjoy your paintings as well. I would like to start doing themes like you do. I think it ends up making sets and the work just seems more cohesive- as opposed to toilets one day figures the next and landscapes after that.... I have ADD.
But one of my favorite teachers always said, 'subject matter doesn't matter.'. the work can be cohesive in style and technique.
